Job summary
Hirschbach Motor Lines is seeking a seasoned Shop Supervisor to oversee daily shop operations for heavy-duty diesel trucks and trailers in Florida. You will lead a team of diesel mechanics, prioritize workloads, and ensure repairs stay on schedule with a strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.
The role requires 5+ years in diesel maintenance with 1–2 years of leadership experience, plus proficiency with shop software and repair tracking.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of diesel mechanic experience, with 1–2 years in leadership.
- Strong diagnostic skills and knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and trailer systems.
- Proficient with shop software and repair tracking tools.
- DOT, OSHA, and safety compliance knowledge.
- Team-focused with leadership by example.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations and manage workloads.
- Lead a team of diesel mechanics with coaching and guidance.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Monitor preventative maintenance schedules and emergency repairs.
- Order parts, manage inventory, and track repair costs.
- Ensure safety compliance in all repairs and procedures.
- Communicate with drivers, dispatch, and leadership.
- Train and mentor new mechanics.
