Jgpete is seeking a reliable Service Writer to join our diesel service team. You will be the primary liaison between customers and our technicians, ensuring accurate repair documentation and clear communication.

In a fast-paced shop, you will create and manage repair orders, discuss timelines, and help secure warranty coverage. Strong customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as service writer/advisor or shop coordinator preferred; diesel/heavy equipment a plus.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret technician notes into customer explanations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and collect detailed notes about service concerns.
• Create, open, and manage repair orders.
• Communicate repair needs, timelines, and estimates to customers.
• Coordinate with diesel technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Order parts and materials as needed.
• Review completed work orders for accuracy and proper billing.
• Maintain organized records of service history.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
• Assist with general administrative tasks to support shop operations.
