Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company (MHC Kenworth) in Springdale, AR is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision. You will receive on-the-job training through a development program to achieve Service Journeyman status.

Responsibilities include engine work, fuel/electrical system, brakes, transmissions, cooling, and more, with emphasis on safety and tool care. CDL is preferred and vocational training or equivalent is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• AC, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
