Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are hiring a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty truck repair under supervision and participate in a development program to achieve status as a service technician.

The role involves general mechanical duties, learning motor overhaul and various systems, and working with supervision to complete repairs.

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, chassis, brakes and tune-ups.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
