Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs and assist in engine, fuel, electrical, and transmission work. The role includes on-the-job training toward Service Journeyman status within a safe, organized shop environment.

The position requires tooling, strong diagnostic skills, and adherence to safety practices. CDL preferred and relevant certifications are required to ensure compliance with DOT and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on diesel experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• CDL preferred; A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Must have the necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties and assist in heavy-duty repairs.
• Diagnose issues with engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, brakes and cooling systems.
• Handle minor repairs, troubleshooting and routine maintenance under supervision.
• Attend training sessions and maintain a clean, safe work area and tool handling.
