Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision. The role includes on-the-job training to achieve Service Journeyman status and exposure to engine, fuel, electrical, and brake systems.

Safety-sensitive position with training opportunities, paid time off, and benefits; MHC operates a multi-state network of truck dealerships and leasing services.

Qualifications

• Three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Must provide necessary tools to perform responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Performs general mechanical duties and assists in repairs.
• Gains experience on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes and tune-ups.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs troubleshooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat, orderly workspace and proper handling of tools.
• Advises Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safety practices and uses equipment as required.
