Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Technician / Mechanic for heavy-duty mechanical repairs and ongoing training toward Service Journeyman status. The role involves engine, fuel, electrical, transmissions, and other major systems under supervision, with emphasis on safety and proper tool handling.

The position emphasizes hands-on experience, adherence to safety practices, and participation in training sessions to develop technical competencies.

Qualifikationen

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.

Aufgaben

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience by working on engine overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, engine tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, uses safety equipment when required, responds to suggestions for working safely and seeks assistance when necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
