Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, the North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership and leasing group, invites applications for a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic in Grand Prairie, TX. You will perform heavy-duty truck repairs under supervision and participate in a structured development program to achieve technician status.

Responsibilities include motor overhaul, fuel/electrical systems, transmissions, cooling, brakes, and routine maintenance, with on-the-job training and opportunities for

Qualifications

• CDL preferred.
• Minimum three years hands-on experience or graduate of vocational courses.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and/or assists in the performance of general mechanical duties.
• Gains experience in motor overhaul, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, motor tune-up, and general maintenance.
• Works on major components with close supervision.
• Performs trouble shooting on minor problems.
• Attends training sessions and meetings.
• Maintains a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advises the Shop Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
