Job summary

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is seeking a Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic to perform heavy-duty mechanical repairs under supervision and gain journeyman status through on-the-job training.

Role involves working on engines, fuel and electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, and brakes, with emphasis on safety and proper tool handling. CDL preferred and required certifications may be pursued.

Qualifications

• Three years hands-on experience or vocational training completed.
• CDL preferred.
• A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications required.
• Own the necessary tools to perform responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical duties and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Work on engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmissions, cooling systems, chassis, brakes, and tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot minor problems and assist in major components with supervision.
• Attend training sessions and meetings to stay current.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper use of tools.
• Report needed repairs to the Shop Foreman and follow safety practices.
