Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Green Bay, WI for 2nd shift (12:00 pm – 8:30 pm). The role features hourly pay of $28.00, a comprehensive benefits package, and a path for career growth.

Expect a safe, modern shop with state-of-the-art diagnostics; eligible for quarterly bonuses up to $500, plus 401(k) matching and paid training. PTO from day 1 and many employee perks are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred.
• CDL CLASS A preferred.
• Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire.
• Pass Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Performs standard vehicle maintenance.
• Performs standard component inspections and repairs.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.
• Identifies root cause and performs repairs as required.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Performs facility maintenance duties.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
