Job description

Penn Tank Lines is looking for an experienced diesel mechanic for its Clermont, IN location. Experience with PM's on heavy duty trucks is required. This is a day shift position working Monday through Friday!

Tanker experience preferred but not required.

Diesel Mechanics Enjoy:

• $25 - $35/hour
• M-F position with flexibility based on business needs
  • Some weekend work may be required

Job Duties Include:

• Determining vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
• Keeping equipment available for use by completing required services as scheduled.
• Correcting vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and hydraulics
• Verifying vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
• Complying with federal and state vehicle testing requirements.
• Maintaining vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Containing costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
