Job Title: Remote Pharmacy Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team within a large healthcare insurance company as a Pharmacy Technician, where you will play a crucial role in reviewing Prior Authorizations for the Pharmacy Services department. You will be responsible for approving or denying authorizations and forwarding them to pharmacists for final review, ensuring that all health plans and medication types are handled efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Process prescription exceptions, including resolving claim rejects and conducting member and physician outreach.
  • Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.
  • Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and escalated member issues.
  • Escalate questions regarding prescriptions to pharmacists for interpretation or direction on processing.
  • Assist with inbound and outbound patient or physician calls.

Essential Skills

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current Pharmacy Registration and/or Certification as required by state of operation.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • 2+ years pharmacy technician experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in call centers, PBM, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings.
  • Certification through PTCB or NHA.
  • Experience with prescription benefits.

Work Environment

This is a professional remote work environment where you will be working with multiple screens and systems. You must have strong WiFi and a dedicated office space with a closed door. The shift requires availability Monday through Friday from 8am to 8pm in your time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and occasional holidays. Training will be conducted from 10am to 6:30pm EST, and post-training shifts will begin at 8am, 9am, or 10am in your time zone. You must have a smartphone, and the company will provide necessary equipment such as a computer, monitor, and headset.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
