Position Description

Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Benefits and Compensation:
  • Hourly Pay: $29.50 per hour
  • Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Up to $500 every quarter
  • Sign-On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
Schedule:
  • Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Second shift: 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
    • Routine maintenance (oil changes, brake, tire work)
    • Basic diagnostics and repairs (including AC and electrical systems)
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid CDL Class A preferred
  • All certifications required by location
Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy-duty and medium-duty repairs and diagnostics
  • Computer skills (PC, Windows, mouse)
Position Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle maintenance and repairs, including preventive and diagnostic work
  • Facility maintenance duties
  • Customer interaction to determine vehicle issues
  • Use of shop management and electronic documentation systems
  • Compliance with safety and DOT regulations
  • Mentoring junior technicians
  • Access and use of maintenance documents
  • Support duties, including service island support
  • Complete OEM diagnostic courses as required
