Job summary

Tyson Foods in Forest, MS is seeking a Diesel Mechanic for the 1st shift at our Live Haul facility. You will maintain diesel engine trucks and trailers and perform preventative maintenance in a safety‑conscious environment.

Responsibilities include oil changes, greasing, tire and brake work, and inspections. Required: 6 months operator experience in the last year, 3–5 years relevant experience, and a High School diploma or equivalent with technical schooling.

Description

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

This position will perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers to include oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.

Requirements

• Must have6 months operator experience in the past 12 months
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience to the role
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent including Technical or vocational schooling
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered.
• Minimum 180 day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age.
• All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
