Tyson Foods in Carthage, MS is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain diesel trucks and trailers at the Live Haul facility. The role focuses on preventative maintenance, safety compliance, and efficient repair work, with responsibilities spanning oil changes, greasing, tire service, and brake repairs.

The ideal candidate will hold a Mississippi driver’s license, supply their own tools, lift 60 pounds, and have 3–5 years of relevant experience plus a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Authorization to work in the USA and pass urinalysis screening required.

Job Details

Role: Diesel Mechanic Level: ME04 Shift: 1st Shift Base Pay: $27.15 per hour Location: Stationed out of Tyson Foods Live Haul facility in Carthage, MS Relocation Assistance Eligible: No Work Shift: 1ST SHIFT (United States of America)

Description

This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Tasks

• Perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers to include oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.

Requirements

• Must have a current Mississippi Driver’s License and must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
• Must have basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
• Must supply your own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must have the ability to lift 60 pounds, stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools.
• Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
• Must have the ability to document information.
• Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.
• Must have 6 months operator experience in the past 12 months.
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience to the role.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent including Technical or vocational schooling.
• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered. Minimum 180 day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age.
• All job offers are based on the conditions that the candidate can provide proof of authorization to work legally in the United States and pass a urinalysis screening which is part of the post-offer health assessment.
