Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and maintenance on trucks and trailers, including oil changes, greasing, tire repair/replacement, and brake work.
• Use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools to service equipment.
• Document information and communicate with team as needed.
• Meet physical requirements and work in varying environmental conditions.

Job Details

• Role: Diesel Mechanic
• Level: ME04
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Base Pay: $27.15 per hour
• Location: Stationed out of Tyson Foods Live Haul facility in Forest, MS

Description: This position is responsible for maintenance and preventative maintenance on diesel engine trucks and trailers while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• This position will perform preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers to include oil changes, greasing, repairing or replacing semi tires, brake repair or replacement on semi-trucks and trailers.
• This position requires a current Mississippi Driver's License and must pass Tyson Yard/Lot Driver Assessment.
• Must have basic mechanical or maintenance skills.
• Must supply your own tools for minimum maintenance.
• Must have the ability to lift 60 pounds, stairs and ladders up to 30 feet, bend, stretch, reach, work in extreme hot, cold, inclement weather, and odors.
• Must be able to use basic electrical, pneumatic and hand tools.
• Must have the ability to read and understand policies, procedures and regulations.
• Must have the ability to document information.
• Must have the ability to communicate with others written and verbally.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months operator experience in the past 12 months.
• Must have 3 to 5 years relevant experience to the role.
• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent including Technical or vocational schooling.

Additional Eligibility & Conditions

• Applicants who have worked for Tyson three times will not be considered. Minimum 180 day waiting period from previous Tyson employment.
