Job summary

GFL Environmental is a leading North American waste management company, dedicated to sustainable solutions. The Mechanics position involves diagnosing and repairing Diesel and CNG trucks, performing safety inspections, and maintaining equipment to keep fleets operating safely for communities.

The role requires 5+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience, DOT compliance knowledge, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Brake safety certificate and 609 A/C system certification are required.
ASE certifications are preferred.
Ability to read and interpret detailed schematics and manuals.
5+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience.
Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair Diesel and CNG trucks, engines, hydraulics and fuel systems.
Lead inspections of brake systems and engine components to ensure safe operation.
Mentor level B and C mechanics.
Prioritize repairs for efficiency and timely completion of work orders.
Oversee repair schedules and review mechanical write-ups.
Perform DOT and brake inspections on all vehicles.
Complete reports, order parts and perform admin duties as required.
Maintain safe working conditions and comply with safety regulations.
Interpret electrical and diagnostic schematics.
Participate in training to increase skills.
Maintain a clean work area.
