Job summary

GFL Industries is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to safely operate, repair, and maintain company-owned heavy‑duty diesel trucks and equipment. This role supports Environmental Services and will not involve garbage trucks.

Typical shift is 4am–12pm with overtime as required. Candidates should have at least 2 years of diesel mechanic experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR, and be comfortable using diagnostic software. Training and career advancement opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of diesel mechanic experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
• Experience with diagnostic software is a plus.
• Must be computer literate and able to learn software systems.

Responsibilities

• Shift 4am-12pm; OT when required.
• Diagnose and repair heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electric equipment.
• Complete reports, work orders, and order parts daily.
• Plan and schedule repairs in M5 planner and procure parts.
• Coordinate repair schedules and review mechanical write-ups.
• Ensure safe working conditions and regulatory compliance.
• Use a variety of tools and maintain tools as needed.
• Assist in training new employees.
