Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Diesel/CNG mechanic to diagnose and repair trucks, focusing on engines, fuel, hydraulics, and electrical systems. The role requires inspection of brakes and emissions while mentoring junior technicians and coordinating repairs to maximize efficiency.

Applicants should have 5+ years of diesel/CNG maintenance experience, DOT knowledge, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Brake safety certificate required or preferred
• 609 A/C system certification required or preferred
• ASE certifications preferred
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and manuals
• Experience with diesel/CNG maintenance and diagnostics
• Class A or B CDL preferred (not required)
• 5+ years diesel/CNG maintenance experience

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Diesel and CNG powered trucks and components.
• Lead inspections of brakes, engines, emissions, steering, and bearings.
• Mentor level B/C mechanics.
• Prioritize repairs for efficiency and timely completion.
• Review mechanical write-ups and coordinate repair schedules.
• Perform DOT and brake inspections on vehicles.
• Complete reports and order parts; manage admin duties.
• Maintain safe working conditions and comply with regulations.
• Interpret electrical and diagnostic schematics; participate in training.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
