Great opportunity for an experienced diesel mechanic in Fort Worth, TX!

Fort Worth Carrier Corporation has been servicing Dillard’s private fleet since 1980. Our maintenance shop in Fort Worth is actively seeking a motivated fleet mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Class 8 diesel tractors and dry van pup trailers. Our fleet primarily consists of Cummins-powered T680 Kenworth trucks and various makes of pup trailers.

Day shift, Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Salary: $30.00 - $40.00 Per Hour, Depending on Experience

Job Summary: Diesel mechanics will perform routine mechanical maintenance on class 8 diesel tractors. Mechanics should have experience with late model equipment and be able to repair all types of fleet-owned equipment efficiently and timely. Our fleet includes primarily Cummins-powered T680 Kenworth tractors, various pup trailers, dollies, yard trucks, and service vehicles.

Job Role: Diesel mechanics provide safe, professional service and represent Fort Worth Carrier Corporation positively. They perform inspections, diagnostics, emissions repairs, and routine maintenance. Qualified mechanics must possess their own basic mechanic tools. All mechanics are required to follow safety procedures and maintain a good driving record. Class A CDL is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:

• Inspections: FMCSA inspections, bumper-to-bumper preventive maintenance, maintaining schedules.
• Diagnostics: Diagnose maintenance issues, use OEM software, identify electrical malfunctions, perform electronic troubleshooting, ABS diagnostics.
• Emissions: Diagnose and repair exhaust after-treatment systems.
• Repairs: Routine repairs on engines, transmissions, differentials, steering, A/C, brakes, wheels, and safety systems.
• Safety: Complete safety training, keep work area clean.
• Other Duties: Monitor inventory, perform fabrication and welding, enter electronic work orders, charge parts.
