Qualifications

Great opportunity for an experienced diesel mechanic in Fort Worth, TX!

Fort Worth Carrier Corporation has been servicing Dillard’s private fleet since 1980. Our maintenance shop in Fort Worth is seeking a motivated fleet mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of experience working on Class 8 diesel tractors and dry van pup trailers. Our fleet includes Cummins-powered T680 Kenworth trucks and various makes of pup trailers.

Shift & Compensation:

• Day shift, Mon-Fri, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
• Hourly rate: $30.00 - $40.00, depending on experience

Job Summary: Diesel Mechanics perform routine mechanical maintenance on Class 8 diesel tractors, primarily Cummins-powered T680 Kenworths, and various fleet equipment including trailers, dollies, yard trucks, and service vehicles. Mechanics should have experience with late-model equipment and be able to repair all types of fleet-owned machinery efficiently and timely.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform inspections such as FMCSA inspections and preventive maintenance
• Diagnose issues using OEM software and testing equipment
• Repair exhaust after-treatment systems, engines, transmissions, differentials, steering, air conditioning, brakes, and wheel bearings
• Maintain safety standards and keep work areas clean
• Monitor inventory levels and perform routine repairs and maintenance
• Some fabrication and welding may be required

Class A CDL is preferred but not required. Mechanics must possess their own basic tools and adhere to all safety procedures.
