Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management in Stockton, CA is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A to service tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units at our Martin Brower facility. It is a full-time night shift option (7:00 PM–6:00 AM) with pay of $41/hr.

The position requires owning tools, a valid CDL-A (highly desired in some locations), and a clean DOT/MVR. Expect safety-focused work, documentation duties, and potential travel with competitive benefits after 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years related experience.
• Own tools required.
• Valid CDL-A is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable DOT regs and MVR on file.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild, and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts).
• Document work orders and preventative maintenance in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and software where applicable.
• Perform inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Follow DOT/OSHA and Reyes Fleet Management safety policies and use appropriate PPE.
• Possibly drive Reyes vehicles; maintain DOT driver qualification file; CDL holders may undergo DOT drug screening.
• Travel may be required; perform other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 3 plus years of related experience
• Must possess own tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
