Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management, one of the largest privately held fleets in the U.S., is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A for our Martin Brower facility in Stockton, CA. This full-time role offers a Sunday-Wednesday or Wednesday-Saturday shift from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, at $41.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, rebuilding and repairing tractors, trailers, and related equipment; documenting repairs in the online Enterprise Asset Management system; and ensuring DOT/OSHA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience.
• Must possess own tools and a valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
• CDL A is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts).
• Document work orders and preventive maintenance in the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnose complex mechanical/electric problems using diagnostic tools.
• Carry out detailed inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Follow DOT/OSHA safety rules and Reyes Fleet Management standards; maintain PPE and safe practices.
• May drive Reyes vehicles; DOT regulations require qualification files and periodic checks.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Other projects or duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts)
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The Driver Qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last three years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMSCA Clearinghouse review

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) with 3 plus years of related experience
• Must possess own tools
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations to operate applicable company vehicles
• Valid CDL (License A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 50 pounds, occasionally lift, push and/or pull weights in excess of 100 pounds
