Job summary

XPO is seeking a Mechanic Apprentice to perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailers. You will apply DOT, EPA, OSHA and other safety rules while servicing and inspecting vehicles.

The role offers a daytime–evening shift, health benefits on day one, PTO, holidays, a 401(k) with match, and education assistance. This is an exempt Motor Carrier Act position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in tractor/trailer inspection and repair or technical school with heavy-duty certification.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Shifts include days, evenings, weekends; willing to work a variety of shifts.
• Brake inspections per FMCSA 396.25; Vehicle inspections per 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on heavy-duty diesel equipment, forklifts and trailers according to schedules and regulations.
• Inspect and repair systems; rebuild components as needed.
• Conduct safety inspections and document findings.
• Move trailers and operate a hostler in various conditions.
• Record job times and parts used on repair orders; operate tools and vehicles.
