Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking a Fleet Technician in Springfield, MA to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks and related equipment. You will document work orders, diagnose issues, and perform repairs with minimal supervision, including road calls as needed.

The role requires 2+ years of experience in heavy-duty repair, and offers comprehensive benefits and an established service environment within Performance Foodservice.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair incl. PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair and A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, reefers) and basic repairs.
• Identify root causes and perform required repairs.
• Ensure roadworthy licensing and registration for equipment.
• Document work orders in Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brakes, steering, wheel bearings, and related components.
• Assist with routine maintenance (oil changes, batteries, lubrication).
• Perform related duties as assigned.
