Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons, a leading solid waste services provider, seeks a Diesel Mechanic for its Wyoming Valley Division in Nanticoke, PA. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks and construction equipment per manufacturer specifications and safety standards.

Responsibilities include identifying needed replacement parts, working with diagnostic tools, and performing complex assemblies and alignments. A diesel tech degree or training plus a valid license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diesel engine technical degree or formal training or comparable experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and data.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and garage equipment.

• Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks and equipment per manufacturer specs.
• Identify required replacement parts and obtain them as needed.
• Ensure safe operation of garage tools, lifts, and hoists; adhere to warranty policies.

Our Wyoming Valley Division, located in Nanticoke, PA, is currently searching for Diesel Mechanics due to growth!

What You Will Do:

• Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, including auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer's specifications
• Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
• Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
• Adhere to manufacturer's warranty policies and procedures
• Capability to independently analyze and safely resolve problems
• Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
• Special projects and other job duties as assigned

QualificationsYou Have/You Are:

• Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience
• Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
• Ability to Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
• Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals
• Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software
• A valid driver's license
• Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

You Might Have:

• A Commercial Driving License (A or B)
• PA State Inspection License (highly desired)
• ASEs
