Job summary

JP Mascaro & Sons, Morris County Division in Dunmore, PA, seeks an experienced Trailer Mechanic for full-time work to repair and maintain trailers and trucks. The role requires diagnosing complex systems, providing preventive maintenance, and performing service calls with safety as a priority.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in trailer mechanics, diesel knowledge, own tools, and be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. CDL and PA inspections licenses are preferred; ASEs are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least 3 years of experience as a trailer mechanic on class 8 trucks.
• Diesel engine knowledge and related training preferred.
• Knowledge of garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment.
• Own tools; CDL preferred; PA State Inspection license desirable; ASEs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on trailers and vehicles.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems.
• Fabricate and repair body parts on trailers; disassemble/reassemble damaged areas.
• Use vehicle computer systems to interpret failure modes and plan repairs.
• Estimate time and parts; complete repair paperwork and maintenance reports.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns; conduct safety checks.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area per OSHA standards.

Our Morris County Division located in Dunmore, PA is currently searching for a Trailer Mechanic due to growth!

What You Will Do:

• Work under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks
• Perform repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
• Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment
• Fabricate and repair body parts on trailers as well as disassemble and reassemble trailer parts as necessary to repair damaged areas
• Utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
• Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisition of new parts
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles
• Complete required paperwork associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
• Review completes, or assigns repairs identified on Vehicle Conditioning Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• At least three (3) years of experience as a trailer mechanic on class 8 trucks
• Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training relative and transferable experience preferred.
• Knowledge in the safe operations of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment.
• Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist others
• Must be able to work in a dusty, greasy environment, with moderate noise and cold and hot temperature ranges
• Must be able to follow all required work safe practices
• Must have own tools
• A Commercial (A or B) Driver License preferred
• PA State Inspection license highly desired
• ASEs preferred
