Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a diesel mechanic to safely operate, repair, rebuild and maintain company-owned or leased heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment. Starting pay is $28-$33/hr with more pay based on experience, certifications, and skill level.

Shift begins at 12pm with 8-10 hour days, Monday through Friday, and overtime after 40 hours. Benefits include PTO, tool allowance, boot reimbursement, health benefits after 60 days, 401K after 6 months, and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience with diesel engines and heavy trucks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections and maintenance on diesel refuse trucks and fleet equipment.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brakes, suspension, and PTO systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues to keep fleet operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure vehicles are ready for daily operation.

Job description

Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely Starting Pay: $28-$33/hr More pay available based on experience, certifications and skill level. Shift: 12pm start time. Expect 8-10hr shifts. M-F. OT after 40hrs

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily inspections, diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and complete repairs on Diesel Refuse Trucks.
• Repair and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, PTO systems, and other truck components.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues to keep Refuse Trucks operating safely and reliably.
• Perform preventative maintenance and complete repairs to ensure fleet vehicles are ready for daily operation.
