Job summary

Swift Transportation in Richmond, VA is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair company equipment, including tractors and trailers. This on-site role offers hands-on training with OEMs and opportunities for career growth.

You will perform inspections and repairs to OEM/DOT specifications, work with a large fleet, and join a team of experienced technicians committed to keeping trucks moving.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Comprehensive background check conducted.
• Pre-employment hair drug screening performed.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per OEM/DOT specs.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair tractors, trailers and support equipment.
• Disassemble and repair heavy truck and trailer components.
• Carry out tire maintenance including repairs and analysis.

Location: 2841 Charles City RD. Richmond ,VA 23221

Pay: $24 - $33 ($37.50 -$45 Overtime rate when available)

Shift: Sunday - Wednesday 8:30 am - 7:00pm

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.
