Swift Transportation in Phoenix is immediately hiring Diesel Mechanics/Technicians. Earn $22.00–$33.00 per hour with shift options that include Weekend-to-Wednesday or Wednesday-to-Sunday.

The role covers preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on tractors, trailers, and support equipment, with opportunities for overtime and tuition assistance. Join a large team offering hands-on OEM training with Freightliner, International, Volvo, Cummins, and Detroit.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals and repair orders.
• Experience with diagnostic software used on tractors and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to OEM/DOT Swift specifications.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair tractors, trailers and related components.
• Disassemble, repair and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components.
• Perform tire maintenance and related inspections.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do as a Diesel Mechanic

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc.)


• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.


• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components.


• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• Knowledge of vehicle systems and basic vehicle maintenance preferred with ab ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.


• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service/computer skills.


• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
