Swift Transportation in Greer, SC is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company equipment including tractors and trailers. The role requires 3+ years of hands-on experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read repair manuals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with on the job training or diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school required.
• Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results required.
• High School or combination of training and/or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc).
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble Heavy Truck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles and related systems.

Shift: Temporary Full Time Position Monday -Friday 9:00AM- 5:00PM

Must be physically capable of standing for long periods, bending, crawling, climbing, reaching, lifting heavy objects (up to 100 pounds or more depending on the job), and performing repetitive motions with their hands and arms, often while working in tight spaces. This job requires good overall strength dexterity and endurance.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, ect).
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles and any other components or systems.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.
