Job summary

Swift Transportation in Morris, IL is hiring Experienced Trailer Mechanics. The role includes completing quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company equipment, including tractors, trailers, and refrigerated units, with paid training provided.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 6 AM to 3 PM. Pay ranges from $23.00 to $31.00 per hour, with benefits listed such as 401(k), health insurance, PTO and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and reassemble heavy truck and trailer components including engines, transmissions, axles, and related systems.
• Perform tire maintenance, repairs and related analysis.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do

As an Experienced Diesel Mechanic Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, etc).
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles and any other components or systems.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.

Qualifications: What you need to bring

• 2+ years' related experience and/or training required.
• Demonstrated/proven superior customer service and computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, understanding and ability to complete/fill tags and repair orders.
• Ability to use and learn various diagnostic software used on tractor/trailers.
