The role involves maintenance and repair of company-owned trucks and trailers, with emphasis on engine, transmission and axle work. Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with on-the-job training or a diploma in vehicle maintenance from vocational or trade school.
• Must possess the tools required to accomplish the essential job results.
• High School diploma or equivalent; training/experience acceptable.
• Driver's license required.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand repair manuals; complete repair orders.
• Ability to use diagnostic software on tractors/trailers.
• Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete quality preventative maintenance inspections and repairs on company-owned equipment including tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance to OEM/DOT/Swift specifications.
• Inspect, troubleshoot and repair equipment including engines, transmissions, axles and components.
• Perform tire maintenance including repairs, failure analysis and identification.

Must be physically capable of standing for long periods, bending, crawling, climbing, reaching, lifting heavy objects (up to 100 pounds or more depending on the job), and performing repetitive motions with their hands and arms, often while working in tight spaces. This job requires good overall strength dexterity and endurance.

Job Responsibilities: What you will do

Complete a quality preventative maintenance inspection and repairs on all company owned equipment, to include tractors, trailers, refrigerated units and support equipment.

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment to appropriate specifications (OEM, DOT, Swift, ect).
• Inspect, analyze, troubleshoot, diagnose and perform minor and/or complex repairs for all equipment.
• Disassemble, repair and re-assemble of Heavy Truck & Trailer components; including but not limited to; refrigerated units, diesel engines, transmissions, axles and any other components or systems.
• Perform tire maintenance to include: repairs, failure analysis, coding, identification.
