Immediately hiring a Permanent Full-Time Diesel Mechanic Technician in Charge to support and work with our growing team at Ryder in Eugene, Oregon.

• Technician In Charge positions pay weekly
• Hourly pay: $36.50 per hour
• Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
• Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter (four times per year)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
• Hours: Second shift, 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm

Minimum Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree (preferred)
• Required basic tools
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and some major engine repairs
• Four or more years of relevant work experience (preferred)
• Ability to read codes and instructions on computers
• Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, internet, and related software
• Minimum tool requirements
• Experience with computerized maintenance programs
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Other certifications as required by location

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
• Minimum Tech II to Tech IV qualifications plus six months supervisory or training experience
• Flexible work schedule, including shift work, weekends, holidays, and roadside assistance on-call rotations
• Proficiency in SMO, SBT, payroll systems, warranty recovery, and employee handbook
• Understanding of unit utilization procedures

• Driving Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, background, and motor vehicle checks

Internal Candidates:

Prefer candidates with at least 6 months in current position, with good performance, attendance, safety, and teamwork records.

Responsibilities:

• Assist and train technicians, provide customer service, and give feedback to the service manager
• Oversee parts distribution, inventory, reporting, warranty recovery, unit tracking, payroll, and other duties as assigned
