Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel fleet equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, hydraulic/electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. You will support drivers on routes using a state-of-the-art fleet.

Under supervision, you will troubleshoot multi-system issues, complete preventive maintenance, and participate in training.

Qualifications

• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Experience with gasoline and diesel-powered equipment diagnosis and repair.
• ASE/T1-T8 certification a plus; CDL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge and performs preventive and repair maintenance on vehicle components and systems, on-site and on the road.
• Repairs chassis components and refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air/hydraulic braking systems.
• Light engine repair and maintenance; suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems; HVAC.
• Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
• Safely provides road service when necessary to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
• Completes company training programs.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
