Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing/Transportation Solutions is seeking an experienced Technician at our Jackson, MS location. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, lead others, and mentor teammates while working with cutting-edge maintenance technology.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training and experience in the diagnosis/troubleshooting of major components (engines, transmissions, differentials)
• OEM training courses and ASE Certification preferred
• Experience using welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools
• Ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with customers
• Ability to work well as part of a team and to work independently
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Adherence to Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA rules

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs vehicles to keep customers safe on the road
• Performs preventive maintenance with minimal supervision and timely execution
• Repairs major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials
• Keeps work area clean and safe
• Uses Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs
• Learns new skills through Penske technician training
• Works on additional tasks as assigned by supervisor
