Job summary

Penske is hiring a Technician in Jackson, MS. You’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a diverse fleet, using Penske’s tools for diagnostics and repairs. Strong safety practices, reliability, and customer service are essential as you help keep vehicles on the road.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to solve problems and comfort using tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and outside.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must understand and follow Penske safety policies and DOT/OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and ensure vehicles are safe for customers.
• Use Penske tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics.
• Perform preventative maintenance such as tire rotations and lubrication on gas and diesel engines.
• Pair with manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and hands-on coaching.
• Handle other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
