Job summary
Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drive train, and steering. You may also perform basic tire work and on-road service to keep our fleet on the move.
Responsibilities emphasize diagnosing issues, performing preventative maintenance, and using electronic tools.
Qualifications
- Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
- Knowledge of work order labor time standards.
- Experience with maintenance on light/medium/heavy trucks.
- ASE certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
- CDL is a plus but not required.
- 3-5 years of technician experience or recent graduation from an automotive program within 3 months.
Responsibilities
- Maintains knowledge and moderate proficiency in vehicle components and systems for preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
- Chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Refuse bodies including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Light engine repair and maintenance.
- Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
- Heating and air conditioning.
- Line welding and fabrication.
- Provide safe road service to return equipment to operation.
