Job summary

Republic Services in Allentown, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment and refuse trucks. Under supervision, you will handle chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, braking, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering, with opportunities to learn new technologies.

You will perform basic tire work, preventive maintenance, and provide on-call road service as needed.

Qualifications

Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
3–5 years of experience in a technician role or recent graduation from an automotive college/technical school.
Valid driver’s license. ASE certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Maintains working knowledge and moderate proficiency in vehicle components and systems; performs preventative and repair maintenance on-site and on the road.
Chassis component repair and maintenance.
Refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic and electrical systems; and air and hydraulic braking systems.
Light engine repair and maintenance.
Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
Heating and air conditioning.
Performs line maintenance welding and fabrication.
Safely provides road service when necessary to keep equipment operational.
Identifies malfunction sources using electronic tools.
Completes company training programs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
