Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician A to repair and maintain diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks, including chassis, refuse bodies, air brakes, engines, HVAC, and drive trains. Work on a single fleet with state-of-the-art equipment, supporting drivers on routes and servicing advanced vehicles.

The role offers training in new technologies, a stable shift, and opportunities for growth within a respected environmental services leader. Valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Ability to diagnose multi-system issues with minimal supervision.
• ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus but not required.
• LNG and/or CNG experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of vehicle components and systems and performs complex repairs on-site and on the road.
• Chassis component repair and maintenance.
• Refuse bodies systems; air and hydraulic braking systems.
• Engine repair and diagnostics.
• Diagnostics of diesel fuel systems and fuel systems.
• Suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• HVAC systems diagnostics and repair.
• Aftertreatment systems diagnostics and REGEN.
• Diagnose electrical concerns with scan tools.
• Line maintenance, welding and fabrication.
• Identify malfunctions with electronic tools.
