Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a maintenance technician to perform preventative maintenance on medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and reefer units under minimal supervision. Ensure compliance with state and federal trucking regulations and maintain accurate work orders for repairs and parts used daily.

The position will require road call services as needed. Schedule is Monday–Friday 11:00am–7:00pm with occasional Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Complete preventive maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and identify root causes of basic failures/conditions.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and registration prior to being roadworthy.
• Document repairs and maintenance in the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brakes, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings and other parts to ensure proper operation; replace parts as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, using hand and power tools.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
