Job summary

Performance Foodservice is seeking a Diesel Technician to perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs on medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. The role includes road call support and ensuring all work is accurately documented in the Enterprise Asset Management system.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years’ experience in diesel vehicle repair, knowledge of electrical diagnostics, A/C refrigeration, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience.
• Relevant experience: 2+ years in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and A/C refrigeration.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on fleet diesel equipment and identify root causes of basic failures.
• Ensure equipment has required licensing and is roadworthy.
• Document work orders and maintain records in the Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Install, replace, and repair onboard computers.
• Inspect brakes, steering, bearings, and related components for proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, and use of hand and power tools.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
