Job summary

Sysco Careers is seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician to ensure safe and reliable vehicle operations for the distribution fleet in Kansas. You will conduct preventive maintenance, perform required inspections, diagnose issues, and execute high-quality repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and Sysco standards.

You will document all work on work orders, use diagnostic software, and collaborate with teams while complying with DOT and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

Requires medium/high duty truck tech training and a high school diploma or GED.
Experience with fleet maintenance and repair preferred: 2 years school plus 1 year, or 3 years in fleet maintenance.
Must have current and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections and preventive maintenance to maximize safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Perform annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs per manufacturer specs (engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, HVAC, etc.).
Document work performed on work orders and learn Sysco computer programs.
Operate electrical meters and understand DC low voltage controls.
Complete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.
