Job summary

Sysco Central Illinois, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to keep our vehicle fleet safe and reliable. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair engines, transmissions, and electrical systems to minimize downtime and extend fleet life.

The role requires heavy-duty truck training and a high school diploma or GED, with ASE certifications preferred. It provides a full-time night shift, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package, including a tool allowance.

Qualifications

• Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training and a high school diploma or GED are required.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform inspections and repairs safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Conduct annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems and related components.
• Document work on orders and maintain records in company systems.
• Operate, test, and diagnose using OEM diagnostic software and hand tools.
