Job summary

Sysco Foods is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and expert diagnosis on our vehicle fleet. The role focuses on preventing breakdowns and reducing downtime, with emphasis on safety and reliability across all fleet systems.

The position requires HDT training, a valid license, and experience in fleet maintenance. The role includes a 2nd shift and a $2 per hour shift differential, plus boot and tool allowances and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training is required.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year school plus 1 year experience or 3 years fleet maintenance/repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances.
• Perform annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on tractors, trailers, dollies, and other equipment per regulations.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability across fleet.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly.
• Diagnose malfunctions and repair engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-line, steering, suspension, electrical and exhaust systems.
• Follow procedures and document all work on work orders.
• Learn Sysco computer programs and develop efficiency.
• Proficient in electrical meter testing.
