Job summary

Sysco is seeking a Fleet Technician Apprentice in Modesto, CA to learn preventive maintenance inspections and repairs, and to diagnose issues to reduce downtime. You will work under experienced technicians to ensure safety and reliability of company vehicles.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, documenting work orders, and developing proficiency in Sysco computer systems. CDL is preferred but not required at start.

Qualifications

• Must own and provide all tools (diagnostic equipment and major tools provided by Sysco)
• Apprentice will have regular performance reviews to determine areas of improvement
• Annual Inspector Certification knowledge, skills and abilities preferred
• ASE certifications - Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks preferred
• 609 HVAC Certification preferred
• Working knowledge of computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers

Responsibilities

• Learn to perform required inspections and preventive maintenance under guidance.
• Learn to perform FAI/CVI inspections on fleet vehicles under guidance.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs per manufacturer specs.
• Follow documentation procedures on work orders.
• Develop efficiency in Sysco computer programs under guidance.
