Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks a Fleet Mechanic/Technician in Livermore, CA to maintain and repair diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and document work performed.

The role requires lifting up to 110 pounds and the ability to work with diverse teams. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, ASE certifications, and a CDL Class A preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year vehicle maintenance experience or completion of an apprentice program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic systems.
• Ability to lift ~110 pounds and operate manual/automatic transmissions.
• Paint and body work experience preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Perform basic diagnostics and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Work with other technicians on maintenance and repairs.
• Document maintenance work in reports and systems.
• Conduct safety inspections and perform paint/body work as needed.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
