Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You'll perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, with opportunities for body work and equipment inspections.

Starting pay is $31.63 per hour, with potential increases, shift differentials, and tuition/tool reimbursements as part of our benefits package. Must be able to lift heavy components and operate various engines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred
• One year experience in vehicle maintenance or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications
• Class A CDL preferred
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and diagnostic systems
• Able to lift components weighing ~110 pounds with help
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Basic written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble and adjust equipment
• Works with other technicians on maintenance and repairs
• Documents maintenance in writing and electronically
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work
• Paint and body work on vehicles when required
• Complies with laws, regulations, and company policies
• Performs other duties as required
