Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a diesel vehicle mechanic for the 5pm-7am Sunday-Thursday shift in Ohio. You will perform repair and maintenance on fleet trucks, diagnose issues, and replace components to ensure safe operation.

Strong emphasis on safety, record-keeping, and customer service with internal/external stakeholders. Experience with heavy trucks and diesel engines is preferred, as are skills in reading repair manuals and electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle failures.
• In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems is preferred.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs, following all rules and policies.
• Diagnose issues and perform necessary repairs to vehicle systems.
• Inspect, repair, and overhaul vehicle electrical, air and brake systems.
• Complete adjustments, repairs and component replacements as needed.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
