Job summary

Sysco Syracuse, LLC is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a large commercial fleet. Responsibilities include inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems to ensure safety and reliability.

The role requires use of diagnostic software, own tools, and adhering to DOT and OSHA rules. Evening and weekend shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Education: Heavy/Medium Duty truck technical training.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair.
• Current and valid driver's license.
• Annual Inspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Brake Inspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• ASE certifications; Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred, Not Required)
• 609 HVAC Certification

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within planned time tolerances to maximize safety and cost efficiency.
• Perform Annual inspections on all fleet vehicles according to regulations.
• Perform quality maintenance repairs to maximize safety and reliability.
• Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write ups timely and efficiently.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and repair to manufacturer specs including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
• Follow procedures and document all work on work orders.
